Coach Ty

Coach Ty was born in Germany and spent the early part of his life as an “Army brat.” He played 4 years of high school basketball in Alabama and Memphis and 3 years of football in multiple positions (QB, WR, RB, CB.)
After high school, he attended college on a basketball scholarship at Jackson State, Jackson, TN, and Univ of NC – Charlotte, eventually transferring to Shelton State, AL mid sophomore year where he earned a starting shooting guard role, averaged 14 PPG, and won the NJCAA D1 Championship.
In 2009 and 2010, Coach Ty participated in workouts with the Chicago Bulls and Orlando Magic, making it to the second round.
He played semi-professional basketball in 2012-2013 with the American Basketball Association team (ABA) Birmingham Blitz where he was leading scorer and defender.
From 2013 – 2014, he played professional basketball overseas with the London Lions, the Glasgow Rocks and the USA Select Team of Limerick, Ireland where he was season MVP, averaged 18 PPG, 6 RB, 3 steals and was Ireland Super League championship winner.
In 2014, Coach Ty formed League Ready as a way to utilize his extensive collegiate and professional level contacts to help young athletes reach the next level.
In 2017, he relocated to middle Tennessee, and subsequently the Spring Hill area, where he lives today.
Coach Ty is a devoted father to Zaniya (age 9 ), Genesis (age 4), and Matthias (age 3).
